The Kyoto International Conference Center opened in 1966 as Japan’s first national conference center. Since the opening of the museum, important resolutions at home and abroad have been adopted in this conference hall, and this conference hall was also used when the “Kyoto Protocol” was adopted at the 1997 Global Warming Prevention Conference.

At Kotobuki Seating, we have renovated the chairs in the main hall (main hall), which the Kyoto International Conference Center prides itself on. Since the occupancy rate of the main hall is high, we advanced the renovation work with a plan to repeat construction for a short period of time, giving top priority to users. As a result, we were able to complete the construction period without closing the facility for a long period of time by implementing it in stages.
The chairs in the main hall are chairs produced in the 1960s when many excellent products were produced. Kotobuki Seating at that time also launched many FRP products in collaboration with designers and architects.

Since the products that have been in regular use since the museum opened are still active to this day, the robustness and design of this product can be appreciated. Provided the FRP shell is not damaged, a long lasting FRP chair that can be successfully used in the future by replacing the cushioning material and upholstery and performing maintenance. Production has now ended and has become valuable in terms of design.
